We finally have our gear setup here in Belgium. So here is the Hungary recap.
On Saturday Q1 started well, with both drivers getting some very nice results. Ericsson edged out Alonso by finishing just ahead of him in 7th. In Q2 Alonso improved massivly with a 0.5s faster lap. That took Alonso all the way to 2nd. Ericsson also improved in Q2 but only by 0.066s which secured him a top 10 in Q2. In Q3 Ericsson was the first to set a lap which then Alonso beat. Vettel then managed to squeeze himself between Alonso and Ericsson. Hamilton then beat Alonso by 0.1s for pole. Hulkenberg came in late but got himself P4. That meant a P2 and P5 for our drivers. Which is the best result we have had so far.
On Sunday it was a different story. Alonso keept his 2nd place until lap 12 where he retired from a serious mechanical issue. Ericsson had a decent start but quite quickly lost posistions to Van de Garde and Verstappen. Just after Alonso retired Ericsson lost posistions to Button and Rosberg. Ericsson kept his place around 9th for the majority of the race. Until lap 63 when he started seeing issues with the car and he then retired on lap 64.
From an amazing Saturday to a disaster Sunday. The team has looked into what caused these retirements and are working hard to not have this happen again. We all at Sauber are hoping for a much better weekend here in Belqium.
